More about Trees for the Future

Unstainable land use is the leading cause of climate change. We know that trees can help solve the climate crisis, stop erosion, and provide nutrition, but the agricultural industry is instead constantly clearing land. Under the old model of agriculture, farmers are encouraged to remove tress, instead of embracing them as solutions. Trees for the Future (TREES) is changing this.

TREES trains farmers to establish Forest Gardens, planting thousands of trees and dozens of diverse species. These trees bring nutrients back to the soil and revitalize farmers' land, suporting the farmer and environment at the same time.

Forest Gardens capture carbon, nurture biodiversity, and support the ecosystem while providing farmers with a reliable source of income and nutrition.

The Forest Garden Approach is a simple, replicable, and scalable program with over three decades of success. Over the course of our four-year training program, farmers receive the seeds, tools, and training they need to establish their own Forest Gardens. Farmers work closely with local staff to restore and protect their soild, growing thousands of trees and dozens of food and resource crops.

Forest Garden farmers are successfully improving the environment while also increasing their income and access to food and nutrition.
